The second chalet is called “Le Petit Catelan” offers convenient cyclist/ski friendly self-catered accommodation in a nice setting.
Constructed in 1982, and under new ownership since March 2023, is ideal for small groups and families seeking accommodation at an affordable price in a quiet environment, surrounded by nature. Situated just a 5 minute drive/ride from the centre of Bourg d'Oisans and to the ski lift in Allemond. The other Ski centres of “Les Stations d’Oisans” (Alpe d’Huez, Vaujany, Les deux Alpes) are only a 20 min drive away.
Dog friendly. Accepts all dogs allowed in France except dogs of categories 1 and 2 (Toutourisme).
The house (150m2) has a cosy chalet style, interior set over two floors, and can accommodate small groups up to 9 people comfortably in four bedrooms. Although the house was constructed about 40 years ago, it has been partly refurbished and kept in acceptably good condition.
The house also benefits from secure bike/ski storage, WiFi (**), laundry, TV, furnished garden, and private parking for several vehicles.
“Le Petit Catelan” and “Le Catelan” are two chalets not far from each other under the same ownership and both offered for holidays vacations by Explore Oisans. The external staircase leads to the first-floor terrace. “Le Petit Catelan” is the chalet on the left side of the terrace, while “Le Catelan” is on the right side.
The living and dining room, kitchen, toilet room, two bedrooms and bathroom of “Le Petit Catelan” are located on the first floor. Around the house at the first floor is a wide terrace.
The living room has a wood, classic style interior and an original “Bullerjan” wood burning stove, TV, and two large comfortable sofas. The dining table in this room offers with seating for up to 9 guests. The kitchen cupboards are still 1982 style, have been repainted and are well-equipped with brand new kitchen appliances including a fridge with freezer, gas stove, electric hot air oven, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher, fully allowing self-catering on holidays.
There is also a separate toilet, one bathroom and two bedrooms on the first floor. The larger of the two bedrooms has a double bed (two single beds placed next to each other) and a single bed. The other bedroom comfortably accommodates two adults in a sturdy bunk bed. The bathroom has a modern double sink and a bath with shower wall.
An internal stair leads to the second floor. Here we have a small bathroom and two separate bedrooms.
The small bathroom has basic accommodation: sink, shower, and toilet. The spacious bedroom on the left side of the bathroom, has a cosy wooden interior, and accommodates a double bed, a single bed and a dressing. The bedroom on the right side has a simple interior with two single beds.
Besides the building on the ground floor is a secure bike store and ski store.
The house has an enviable location set in a pretty garden with wonderful outdoor space to relax in or enjoy an evening aperitif. There are sun loungers, and table and chairs for al-fresco dining.
In summary, this is a nice chalet from where to experience mountain holidays together that will not be forgotten!
Services delivered by the community:
There is a car-free comfortable cyclist path (Voie Verte) along the river La Romanche which can be accessed from the house. This provides a scenic route to the villages when walking or riding together as a family.
During the holiday periods a navette (https://www.bourgdoisans.com/commerce-service/navette-oisans-hydrelec-vaujany-venosc-les-2-alpes/) stops 150m from the house leading to Allemond (ski lift to Oz en Oisans) in one direction and to Bourg d'Oisans and Venosc(ski lift to Les 2 Alpes) in the other.
During summer, you can enjoy the water in the open air swimming pool with an amazingly long slide “piscine municipale” in the centre of Le Bourg d’Oisans (https://www.bourgdoisans.com/equipement/piscine-municipale/ ).

(*) all double beds, which are juxtaposed, are attached to each other, but can be easily separated into two single beds
Second floor:
Room (number 8): double bed (King Size 1.8m, which can be modified to two juxtaposed single beds (*)) + single bed + dressing
Room (number 9): double bed (Queen Size 1.6m, which can be modified to two juxtaposed single beds (*))
Room 10, the large space between room 8 and room 9, if desired, can be used as an additional sleeping room 10, and offers a additional double bed (Valet Size 1.4m wide). Note: access to rooms 8 and 9 is through room 10.

Bathroom (sink, shower, toilet) is shared between rooms 8, 9 and 10.
Total: 11 beds, sleeping place for at least 8 to 9 people
